THE BEST LIQUID FOUNDATIONS – EVER!!!!

Personally speaking i prefer a foundation that is highly concentrated – ie – one that is full coverage. That way i can control the product and the intensity. I would rather sheer down a full coverage foundation than have to apply more product (thus using it up quicker). The following foundations are among my favourite liquid foundations. If you’re looking for EXTREME cover (ie – scars, tattoos, birthmarks etc…) then illamasqua rich foundation is best of the best for that. Best Ereader for a Senior Citizen?

Question:

Best Ereader for a Senior Citizen?

Im looking into getting my grandma an e-reader for christmas.. She reads ALOT and she is limited to being able to go out and buy anymore physical books.. But I cant get a straight forward review on what would be the best in terms of her sake. Most of them just say its your personal preference, but its not for me.. so I cant decide that way.. I have played with them all and I just dont know… Im leaning more towards the Nook, because of the little touch screen thing at the bottom seems like it shows large buttons and its easy to learn, and she likes Chess which it has.. but She has vision problems, and lives on her own far away from me so she would need something she could learn without much help.. What is the best in your opinion in terms of simplicity of course, has the best options or layout for her to be able to see and read the best. And most of all keep in mind she reads alot so it needs to have a decent size store pref. of free books before she starts buying. And has a decent price tag.. =)

I like the Literati too, but it seems more difficult and the stores that sell them dont have an actual one you can play with, just a hit the button and this is its review. =/ so idk?

Any opinions help, and feel free to let me know why you think its the best for a Senior.. Idc if it has the best Cnet “Ratings” or is top of the line Brand. Doesnt have to be nothing special…. Just which is the best for someone of elderly age and will get the job of reading easily done.

Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for library ebooks and that could be very useful for your grandma.
Also, there’s over a million of free public ebooks as well as over a million of ebooks that you need to pay for available through Barnes & Noble eBook store. Prices are generally much lower than for physical books. Another advantage of is that if you or any other familiy member also has Nook, you could lend ebooks to your grandma for two weeks to read so she won’t need to buy them.

Best e-reader for me?

Question:

Best e-reader for me?

My fiance is getting me an ereader for christmas and he needs to know which one will work best for me. Here are things I want in an e-reader.
- Be able to share books with friends
- I will be using it mostly for reading. I have a droid and a laptop so I dont need all the internet crud or media.
- Size does not matter
- Be able to read in sunlight
- I would like to be able to download books where ever using 3g but it is not a requirement. I have wifi at home.
- Color would be nice but not necessary
- Lots of available formats and storage would be great.
- Be able to preview a book before I buy it.
- Touch screen only please
- Dont worry about price for now. I would perfer a cheaper one but please include any ereader you think is suitable :)

Also I heard Barnes and Noble might be bankrupt so Im not sure if a Nook is a good idea.

Pros – cons and personal reviews would be awesome!

Kindle Touch. It’s not color, but it’s most suited to your specs. If you need an e-reader for mostly reading, don’t waste your money on a Kindle Fire or Nook color, because those are made more for internet browsing and video watching, etc. Plus the Kindle Touch’s battery life is astronomically higher than the other two. It can last for weeks without being charged, whereas the Fire and color last for roughly half a day. The Kindle Touch has e-ink technology, which means the screen mimics paper and reading in sunlight is easy. Also, through Kindle’s “Cloud” sharing system, you’ll be able to share books. I think you can buy a Touch w/ 3G, but it’s necessary because the only reason you need to connect to the internet is to buy books. You’re not sacrificing much at all by settling for Wi-Fi (in fact you’d save a lot of money).

How do I get the best quality for my system?

Question:

How do I get the best quality for my system?

Okay so I have a 96 Camaro. Not a big trunk. I have boss speakers in the front doors. Pioneer speakers in back. And Jensen speakers installed in my trunk. I wired those in series with my rear pioneer speakers. I have a 160 watt Jensen linear phase uv9 touch screen head unit. It honestly doesn’t put that much power out. I get some distortion with my boss speakers although they are not blown or anything. And all my speakers sounded fine when I had my previous head unit. A 200 watt DUAL head unit. But for some reason my speakers do not sound as good. I wanna replace my boss and Jensen speakers with pioneers so I have pioneer all the way around. Will this help the clarity of the sound? I also wanna get a amp. Used for my Speakers ONLY. I’m not sure of the wattage tho.. And I’m not sure how to wire it in with the head unit. I figured I need an amp for my speakers due to the fact that my head unit doesn’t put out much. Will an amp make sound better and clearer? ALSO.. I wanna get a single 12 inch sub in my trunk with a 1000 watt amp or 1200. I previously had a 1000 watt SDX amp and a 12 inch Xplod. I wanna upgrade. To Kenwood or Alpine or another named brand. With this said I would have an amp for my sub and for my speakers. Will I need a capacitor? Probably.. Also would a equalizer help anything? To make sound better? Someone also said something about a line driver? I’m confused.. My head unit has one blue port for my sub. Would I need a Y splitter if the amp, has to RCA cables? If anyone can answer these questions and lead me in the ring direction that would be greatly appreciated.. And would help me loads! Thank you.

Best (non-laptop) portable WiFi surfer?

Question:

Best (non-laptop) portable WiFi surfer?

Short of bringing a laptop (or a behemoth like the Archos 705 WiFi), what is today’s best portable WiFi surfer?
- To be clear, I’m not interested in WWAN, and I don’t want to limit my surfing to handheld-optimized sites. Email access is not paramount (otherwise I would have gotten a Blackberry).

My understanding is that it comes down to either iPhone/iTouch or one of the Archos 605 variants?
- iPhone/iTouch offers the benefits of ultra-pocketability and intuitive finger-controlled zooming/scrolling, but is not flash-capable out of the box.
- Archos has the advantages of larger screen, higher resolution, and flash support, but it’s bigger/heavier, and its touch screen control nowhere as intuitive as iPhone/iTouch.

Other products (including all the PDAs, Smart Phones, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, etc) may offer additional benefit, but cannot come close when it comes to the general surfing experience?

Am I missing something major in my understanding?

Thanks in advance.

I’d say the simple choice would be an internet tablet.

If you are ready for something more complex (much more customizable but also much more error-prone), try to get a powerful Windows Mobile PDA with Opera Mobile 9.5

It works incredibly well, supports flash, maybe even youtube (otherwise you can install apps for viewing youtube vids).

Try the Dell Axim X51v, as they go for as low as 200$ new on eBay. Add 25$ for Opera mobile and you are ready to go.

I have a Pocket PC with a lower resolution screen and slower hardware than the X51v and it’s wonderful when my laptop isn’t around.

Best use of car batteries?

Question:

Best use of car batteries?

I’ve currently got 3 batteries in my car running different devices. They are currently set up as follows:

- Original normal car battery – under bonnet (battery 1)
- auxiliary battery kit running from battery 1 to battery 2
- Deep Cycle 25Amp hr battery in boot (battery 2)
- Deep Cycle 75Amp hr battery in boot (battery 3) – stand alone

My thought behind this set up, was while the car is running, battery 1 is being charged, and when also battery 2 when battery 1 is high enough. This way my car always starts.

Battery 3 is in a casing, which has a cigarette adapter built in.

I run a 10″ touch screen off battery 3 – works fine.
I plug my laptop into a cigarette adapter that is hard wired into the auxiliary kit between battery 1 & 2. So it is running off battery 2.

This set up works fine, though I have found that the laptop seems to drain battery 2 more often now. (Batteries are about 12mth old).

Charging:
I used to just connect my battery charger to battery 2 by itself and then battery 3 by itself. But then a guy at the local electrical shop said I could run cables between 2 & 3 and charge them at the same time.

So I use jumper cables to connect + to + and – to – (battery 2 & 3), then I connect the charger to one of the batteries (++ & –). This appears to charge up everything ok.

I also tried connecting the charger to battery 1, under the bonnet with the jumper cables between battery 2 & 3, hoping I could charge them all in one go. It seemed to work as the charger unit said it was at 100% the following morning.

When I’m not charging the batteries, I disconnect the jumper cables from between battery 2 & 3. However, with Battery 2 running down, I was considering leaving the jumper cables on, so that the laptop had more power to draw from and hence last longer?

Can anyone suggest if my thoughts are correct, or if there is a better way to make use of these batteries?

Thanks :)

Answer by FurbiesAndBeans
If you connect batteries in parallel with no isolator, then all of them should be discharging at the same rate, unless you really have them chocked up by using a small wire between them. Between batteries, always use 0 gauge AT LEAST. Your alternator charges all batteries at the same time, unless theyre isolated.
