Should I get a Dell or Hp computer for gaming?

I am fixing to get me a new computer but I am debating between the two company’s. I am wanting it for gaming, internet use, photos and videos. I don’t play games like WoW or Crysis, I just play mediocre games. So I don’t think I need anything like alienware. Can you help me figure out what I need?

My husband plays endless hours of online games like Guild Wars, etc. Does this open my computer to others? Can his gaming friends or other players obtain access to my system this way. I don’t necessarily trust that it is a secure way to play. How to I tell if my computer is safe?

No matter what games he plays, or even if he just searches the web, your computer will always be open to attacks and other things, but it has gotten alot harder for people to do so because of the different isp provider security, and firewalls out there.
So as far as to your question, if you have a firewall and you are careful you are ok, Most attacks or viruses/spyware are done by downloading stuff.

But just remember if it is to good to be true then there is probable some thing wrong with it.

If it is a gaming computer it has to be the Video card, the processor is more important if you are going to do a lot of multitasking and you can get a good mobo for a lot less than a good graphics card.

Is it bad to customize the Dell XPS studio 16 to make it more of a gaming computer?

Im just wondering because i like the look of it more then the XPS M1730.The M1730 very thick and the XPS studio 16 is not so when i order it from the dell website with 8 GB of RAM and a 2.93 processor etc will it work (because its physically smaller then the M1730)

I just looked, that laptop is waaayyyy overpriced, and is NOT a gaming computer. The graphics cards are not for that. I really think dell is overpriced, I like costco, you can customize an HP, you want an ati thats at least a 4600 or higher or nvidia 9600-9800 or 130m gt. CPU can be 2.4 and still be perfect.
