Question:

Dropped iPhone in washer – works except for sound?

When I did laundry this morning, I didn’t realize my iPhone was in one of my blankets – when I threw the blanket in, the phone tumbled into the water. The display came on saying something about how something was incompatible (I don’t remember). After drying off the screen and yanking the phone out of the Otter Box Defender it was in, the display looked OK, the touch screen worked, and the home button worked. But the sound doesn’t work at all.

It’s sitting in a bowl of rice in a sealed plastic bag for now. What else should I do with it? Has anyone had this happen, and if so, how did the phone turn out? Thanks for any advice!

why exactly is it in rice in a bag? trying to extract the water?

in the meantime whatever water is in it is frying your circuits… take it apart and dry it off… if it doesnt work after that then get a new one.. if its out of warrenty its more than likely out of date too

Should I get an iPhone or a BlackJack?

I REALLY want one with a keyboard such as the Blackjack, but the iPhone can do tons of things, and I think I would be more likely to use it if I have my music in it. I already have an iPod Touch though. But I dont want to carry aroung two things. The iPhone has all these convinet widgets and an Internet brower, an iPod also, but it 4x the price as the BlackJack. The iPhone is really cool with it’s touch screen and stuff, but I I-M a lot and the Blackjack defienetly better for messageing. Im having the hardest time chosing. HELP!
Yes, I know I have the Touch and the keyboard is not the easy to use….

I have the new blackjack II and love it if that helps. The iphone is basically the same as the touch so why would you have 2

im due for a new phone within the next coming weeks. i have been BEGGING to get an iphone ever since the first one came out… while att store yesterday i saw the tilt 2 and fell in love with the keyboard
which one do i get!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I love the iphones texting interface since i am a HUGE texter and i love the apps on the iphone because i am a huge facebook and twitter person and it just being a great phone all around but im not to crazy about the 30$ monthly bill i love the htcs keyboard and the touch screen is so big but i have had friends in the past that have had problems with there HTC divices… what would u do

I advise you get an iPhone. I previously had an HTC device and I got rid of it quickly and got my trusty iPhone. The monthly bill is worth it, trust me. Plus, you can get all of those games and other apps through the App Store.
