Question:

I bought two computers, one has the basic software……?

that it came with and I gave it to my mom. The other has lots of additional software loaded on it and I have access to the internet.
Due to viruses and spyware/adware/malware, my computer now has corrupted files which cannot be accessed or I have deleted. I know how to remove the additional software that I have loaded, so that I can reinstall it later. When the two computers were purchased they were identical, so the only difference is the added software. But I have two questions: How can I use the DOS command “copy c:\ a:\” to copy all the files in the multi-layer directories without having to go through all the layers and copy each directory separately? And if this is impossible or too difficult, how can I link them via cable to copy the one’s contents to the other? (I don’t have the Windows Installation disc or it wouldn’t be a problem.) I have found a reputable computer support business that is local and they will do it for 9 if I provide the driver files.

By the way, I tried your suggested website just to see if maybe there was something that I could learn which would keep me from having to reload Windows, and guess what? It doesn’t even work!!! So, edit the web address or I’ll have to chose no best answer just because….
Okay, obviously I need to shorten this to one thing: CAN I USE THE DOS COMMAND “COPY C:\ A:\” TO COPY ALL THE LAYERS OF THE WINDOWS SOFTWARE WITHOUT GOING THROUGH EACH DIRECTORY INDIVIDUALLY? I know how to connect the two computers (already did), know what spy/mal/adware is and how it works. What I don’t know is if the DOS command can do what I need it to do. Can anyone answer this question about the DOS command?

I am assuming you are wanting to do a

C:\>copy c:*.* a:

?

A: being the location of the directory you are wanting to copy information to?
I have never wanted to copy from the DOS prompt though, I have always just created a Network Connection with share priveleges and used a Crossover Cable for just 2 boxes, or used a hub to connect the two computers.

Google Tech Talk July 22, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Professor George Candea people.epfl.ch This talk proposes cloud-based automated software reliability services (SRS), a step toward making testing and debugging of code as easy as using webmail. SRS is automatic, without human involvement from the service user’s or provider’s side; this is unlike today’s “testing as a service” businesses, which employ humans to write tests. First, I will outline four of the SRS components we envision: a “home edition” on-demand testing service for consumers to verify the software they are about to install on their PC or mobile device; a “programmer’s sidekick” enabling developers to thoroughly and promptly test their code with minimal upfront resource investment; a public “certification service,” akin to Underwriters Labs, that independently assesses the reliability, safety, and security of software; and an “automated debugging” service that helps developers fix code based on bug reports from the field. Then I will present in detail execution synthesis, the technique that makes automated debugging (the latter SRS component) a reality. Given a program and a bug report, execution synthesis combines static analysis and symbolic execution to “synthesize” a thread schedule and various required program inputs that cause the reported bug to manifest. I have a printer that keeps downloading software to run it. It is HP F4140 all in one .?

Why does my computer keep downloading software to run my printer? It likes add the same printer every couple of days.. It downloaded about 19 of the same printer???

That means the printer driver is not properly installed you can install the proper printer driver and update your computer also.

Question:

Transfer software from one computer to another?

I have Paint Shop Pro X2 on my laptop and just got a new desktop is there a way
to transfer the software without the disk I been looking everywhere and can’t find it….
I did put all the files on a memory stick but when I plug it into the computer it doesn’t
give me the option to install it just shows all the files….What can I do Thanks in advance….

Sorry, you can’t transfer installable programs from one computer to another – they have to be installed into the operating system you want them to run in.

i have this scanner that i am trying to use for my computer but it says i need to use a cd-rom if it came with it. it is my dads scanner actually and he said he might have lost it. so is there anywhere i can download the necessary software?

Yes, from the HP website.

Just find the Support and Drivers section and select your device, install the program/driver.
