is there a way to send messages to other computers through the command prompt on windows vista?

I am in a computer class, we have about thirty (30) computers all on one (1) server. Last year, we had windows XP, and through the command prompt, it was possible to send messages to other computers using “Net send” I am curious as to if there is a way to send messages to other computers, using a similar command in the command prompt for windows vista, as “net send” doesn’t work.

Well depending on which version of windows vista, if you have Windows Vista Business or Ultimate you could use the msg command:

Just go to cmd and type: msg /?
and you will see the syntax for this net send in vista.

Is there a book that can teach one how a computer works?

I’m pretty good with computers, and I absolutely love technology, but I have always wanted to know how computers work inside and out. I want to know in so much detail that I can build my own computer with all of the information in the book, but since I am not an expert, I want it to be written in more-or-less English (not literally). Is there a book or series of books that can quench my hunger for knowledge?

Computer – is a very vast subject. You’ll find the books/links/blogs in almost all the areas.
Just visit a good library that contains a technical stuff and you’ll get a book of your own interest.
Make some Googling and you’ll get tons of info.

is all memory the same for computers or is there a certain kind that i should get??

I have SAMSUNG PC3200 that will hold up to 4 1gb memory sticks and i have one in now, I want to put aleast two more in but im finding them really really cheap and they say low density and idk what that means …so ya what should i get thats good and fast???

Find and read the documentation for your Mobo. It will tell you the chipset it uses and memory types it takes in what block units. Just do a search with the motherboard type or computer type and you should get some hits.

Is there a way to download all pics from yahoo mail at one time?

It is a pain to download every pic I get in yahoo mail individually. I want to put them on my computer. I know I can move them all to my photos page, but then I can’t save them to my hardrive. Can anyone help? I need a way to save attachments like outlook does.

Try out the Yahoo! Mail Beta Version, it has all what u want. The version u use currently, yes, its really a pain.

What are some of the best Android phones out there?

Hi, guys!

I want to get an Android phone really badly. However, I don’t know much about smart phones. I’ve never had one. All I know is that almost everyone has an Android or iPhone. I’ve researched which one is better and I’ve come to the conclusion that the Android is better in terms of features, design, versatility, apps, etc.

I’m looking for an Android that:

- has an excellent camera and camcorder
- easy-to-use touch screen (not annoying)
- size: not too big or small, and not too fat or thin
- has a sleek design

I have U.S. Cellular if that helps as well. It doesn’t offer much when it comes to nice phones, I know that. I don’t think my parents will switch to Verizon Wireless or AT&T. =P

Does anyone also have any tips on searching for the best Android as well? What should I pay more attention towards?

Is there a program to download all the songs from my Mac-formatted iPod to somewhere safe?

In order to re-download them onto my PC COMPUTER. NOTE: I only one pc computers now. PLEASE HELP ME I CANNOT REFORMAT THE IPOD TO WINDOWS AND LOSE ALL THE SONGS.

You should get usb drive. transfer all the songs onto the drive and then plug into PC and transfer

Is there anyway to get around installing Office 2007 on more than three computers?

I have the student edition of Microsoft Office and I want to install it on all of the computers in the house, but we have five and I have heard that it only allows two downloads. I have already used two and I don’t want to use the last one. How could I get around it?

Is there a way for me to look at or access ALL files on another computer on my network?

I have just set up a home network between two computers. Sharing files is working, but is there a way I can simply access all files on the other computer, rather than putting each one in the shared file, individually?

Well, you just need to enable sharing on the folders you want to look at!
Go to “My Computer” Double click on the C drive. Any folder you see that you want to share (so the other machine can see those files) just right click, select sharing, and enable the share.

You CAN enable the entire drive by clicking on the C Drive in MyComputer and share the entire drive BUT that isn’t a good idea as it makes the entire machine very easy to hack! Computer shares are a favorite target of hackers. You are much safer just sharing the folders you NEED than the entire drive.

I usually just share “My Documents” folders on each machine, since nearly everything I would need access into is in that folder.
