I have this problem with e-mails in my phone?

I have a samsung touch screen (it look similar to i-phone) and its and android. My dad was using this phone before,so when i took it i had to put new thing such as facebook or email. When i click on E-mail, later i click on create a new account (because this option is the only one that suits my case) then i try to insert my email. One finishes with live.it another one with yahoo.it . After this step it says which type of email is this POP3 or IM AP? i tried imap and pop3,and they ask me to insert these following things=

name,password, server pop3 or imap (which is live.it),door – it gives me automatically, type of protection and something else for imap.

Every time it says that i did something wrong,but i know all the details are correct. Somebody can help me?
